Waste for Warmth
Waste for Warmth is a project lead by Engineers Without Borders Norway with the mission to keep displaced families warm throughout the cold winters. The project is now scaling up their innovative approach of transforming plastic waste into tent insulation that can be produced locally.

Shamuk, reducing electronic waste by giving it a second life
Shamuk, leaving no one behind, is a project that seeks to reduce electronic waste by giving it a second life. Through repowering devices and delivering them to children in rural areas in Ecuador, it also reduces the digital gap and supports school reintegration. The initiative was designed and is led by volunteers from the Ecuadorian Red Cross, with funding and support from the IFRC Solferino Academy.

Planet:Red Summit showcased the power of many
On October 12-14, 2021, we came together as the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and organised a global, virtual summit Planet:Red. The focus of this summit was on two of the greatest threats in contemporary times, the climate crisis and pandemics, and also on stepping up the Movement’s local action to drive global impact on the humanitarian dimensions of both.
Code:Red – a digital alternate reality game to tackle the climate crisis
In support of the Planet:Red Summit, Code:Red was a week-long, digital alternate reality game that took place across the internet and across the globe. During the game, around 780 players came together on an online forum, sharing over 1,100 messages in order to crack codes, solve puzzles and reveal the mystery at the heart of this innovative game.
My transformation journey as a leader in DNV
In 2015 we embarked on our digital transformation in DNV, and it’s been an exciting journey both for DNV and for me as an individual, that we’re still in the middle of.
