Brothers across Borders – Interactive film based on true stories

Brothers across Borders is an interactive film based on the true stories of Syrian refugees in Turkey. You are Ismaël, a 21 years old Syrian refugee on a mission to find his brother Muhammed. Muhammed, as the oldest brother, went to Turkey to find a new and safer home for the family, but never returned to Syria. Nor has he contacted the family since he left Turkey. Now it’s all up to you. The future of Ismaël, Muhammed and the entire family is in your hands.

Climate:RED Innovation Competition

Climate:RED Innovation Competition

The Red Cross and Red Crescent will be running Climate:RED, a fully virtual climate change summit on 9 – 10 September 2020.

Climate change affects everyone, everywhere. Therefore, we will hold a summit where no country or person is excluded. This will be a summit with no flights. We will accommodate all time zones, and it will run for 30 consecutive hours, so no one will miss out.

As part of this climate change conference, we are launching a Climate:RED Innovation competition, where staff, volunteers and youth from National Societies around the world will be able to submit innovative ideas for climate initiatives.

What we’ve learned at The Solferino Academy about running virtual meetings

The Solferino Academy began convening virtual workshops in Mid-March 2020, connecting people in national societies responding to COVID-19 so they could share insights, experiences and innovations. Two months later, we had run over 10 Virtual Workshops with more than 2,000 people attending (we had one with 700 people!). Our average attendance per virtual workshop was about 150 people. Here’s what we learned along the way.
