October 16 2021, the International Academy of Red Cross and Red Crescent in China and the IFRC Solferino Academy signed a cooperation agreement. Through this partnership, the two Academies aim to support the IFRC network in becoming a future-fit organisation capable of anticipating and adapting to major trends and to more effectively meet the humanitarian needs of people in crisis.

The two Academies will cooperate in promoting strategic conversations and thought leadership to enable a more innovative and efficient IFRC network. They will also share research reports, best practice studies and think pieces to promote cutting edge thinking and bring new perspectives to the network. The first joint action will be a high-level panel discussion on the Future of Humanitarianism. It will be a part of the International Summit, which the International Academy of Red Cross and Red Crescent in China is planning for December.

The International Academy of Red Cross and Red Crescent in China was jointly founded by the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC), Soochow University and the Chinese Red Cross Foundation. It is a teaching and research institution dedicated to scientific research, talent cultivation, culture communication and academic exchanges in the humanitarian field.
