Any way you look at it 2020 was unprecedented, complex and challenging, and there is little indication that things will get any easier in the near future. Amongst the many difficulties we faced, however, a number of positives emerged alongside some key lessons for us going forward. At the Solferino Academy we spoke to 20 senior leaders across the IFRC and network of National Societies to ask their views on this. Here is some of what they told us:
On September 9th and 10th, 2020 we hosted Climate:Red, a major virtual Red Cross and Red Crescent summit focused on Climate and Environmental Crisis.
The winners of the Innovation competition will be announced. We will also unveil the cartoons that have been prepared during the cartoonathon in the Climate:Red Summit, by a range of professional cartoonists reflecting humorously on the challenges we face in addressing the climate crisis.

On September 9th and 10th, 2020 we hosted climate:red, a major virtual summit focused on Climate and Environmental Crisis. It was the first of its kind for the Red Cross and Red Crescent network and certainly the largest we have ever attempted. Over 10,000 people from 195 countries registered for the Summit.
We are pleased to announce the finalists and the highly commended projects chosen by the judges for the Climate:Red Innovation Competition.
